Bloc receives approval-in-principle for Microfinance Bank (MFB) license. Bloc, a provider of banking-as-a-service solutions, has obtained an approval-in-principle from the Central Bank of Nigeria (CBN). Following full approval, Bloc will be able to leverage the MFB license to directly issue bank accounts and provide payment services to its users. Nairametrics

Klasha acquires a Money Services Business (MSB) license in the United States. Klasha, a cross-border payments company, has been granted a Money Services Business (MSB) license by the Financial Crimes Enforcement Network (FinCEN). This license allows Klasha to operate as a currency exchange and money transmitter in the United States. TechCabal

Nigeria

FrontEdge raises $10 million in new funding. FrontEdge, a Nigeria-based provider of trade financing, has raised $10 million in combined debt and equity funding. The round was led by TLG Capital and will be used to hire new talent and deepen market penetration in Nigeria. TechCrunch
